Recent Updates:
- Mar. 2003 - DAMN! I HATE DEER! Ouch...I hurt. As one of my collegues
now calls me, Doug "Bambi--;" Ledford.
- Dec. 2002 - Well, when it rains it ices! We took a bit of damage around
the house, but not too bad. We had somewhere in the neighborhood of 15
trees that were 6" in diameter or larger snap. We had about another
20 or so small trees snap. Something like 4 of the trees managed to fall
right on our wood privacy fence, so we ended up with about 24 linear feet
of fence getting destroyed. We spent 5 days without power, running the
entire time on our generator. However, the house is heated entirely off
of electric, and the heat pumps and hot water heaters are too much to put
on our poor little 6kw generator! Needless to say, we had to make trips
to other places to shower on occasion (Gold's Gym works remarkably well
for that purpose!) At least we could cook though, and we all huddled
around the little bit of fire we got out of our decorative gas logs. We
had some friends over Friday night.

This is what the house looked like Saturday morning
- Sep. 2002 - I bought a new Yamaha FJR-1300 from Deming Cycle Center
in Deming, New Mexico. The shop owner was Great! to work with. I
ordered my bike back in April, it arrived in Sep., I sent them the final
payment on the bike, they put together all the paperwork, then I flew
from Raleigh, North Carolina to El Paso, Texas where the shop owner's son
picked me up at the airport and drove me the 1 1/2 hours to the dealership.
I took delivery of the bike that afternoon and by about 3PM I was out
on the open road starting the long trip home.
- Apr. 2002 - I finally sold my SV650. So, even though the SV650 page
is still here to show what I did with it, the bike itself is gone and
being raced by another.
- Oct. 2001 - I'm no longer racing. As of the GNF, I decided to hang up
the racing gauntlet and lead a less hectic life ;-) I still love motorcycles
and would probably still race if it weren't for the time demands.
