They are really good people. They’ve changed their whole lives around to care for their elderly relatives, and that is so much more than many people will do now a days. I have huge amounts of respect for both of them as a result, and I told my mother that exact thing today on the phone.

As far as the tragedy goes, there are two side effects to living this far away from my family. It makes it much harder to buy them Christmas presents because I’m not around to see them on a regular basis and know what they want/need. I’m also so far away that the lack of contact makes things like what has happened with my grandmothers easier to deal with. So, I’m pretty much OK at this point, loosing Zeus was really hard, and loosing my grandma Ledford was sad but not so hard to deal with. Thank you for the offer to talk. I’m sure I’ll IM you sometime, but it’ll probably just be over normal stuff instead of depressing stuff

When your parents get another break, their loved ones should pitch in and send them on a cruise.. One of those cruises where they pamper you and attend to your every whim.
